Friday, today I got up, got ready, had some cereal and then I, Margaux, and Xenya rode bikes to Lisa’s house (Margaux rode on the handle bars of Xenya’s bike, a very funny ride that was too as she kept leaping off every time Xenya began to wobble). Once there, they all got ready, I lost my phone but then after a few minutes of panic I found it again out in the driveway. Finally after an enormous amount of time spent in the bathroom they were ready and we hopped the bus and went to Avignon. We climbed the hill along side the Pope’s Palace through gardens and playgrounds. From the top there was an amazing view over the Pont D’Avignon and the rest of the city. It was so incredibly windy up there! I took video so you can see for yourself just how windy and how beautiful it was. On the way back down we passed by a collection of child strollers that were available for people to use. I thought they were so cute that I took a picture, they are little chariots with horses to lead them.
We walked around some, looking at the vendors and street performers and then around 8 or so we went and ate Chinese food. It was pretty good, just the same as in Seattle really, except for everyone speaking French instead of English. After eating we went and met up with a few of Margaux’s friends and we walked along the Marche d’Artisans which was interesting and a lot like Pike Place except everything was outdoors in tents and there was no produce or food vendors. After that we went back to Lisa’s house by bus, got the bikes and rode home.
